With the fall equinox come fresh starts. David Fisher & Serena Chow Fisher have been serving a seven-course tasting menu inspired by summer camp for the past two months Union Square's Hotel Zepplin.
The residency allowed them to provide a longer menu than the four courses at Marlena.
They're excited to come home as the run ends. At the end of camp, Chow Fisher asks, "Hey mom, come pick me up."
What a homecoming! During the months the couple spent cooking downtown, their Michelin-starred Bernal Heights restaurant was closed for an intensive interior refurbishment.
On September 26, B. Marlena will resume serving supper seven evenings a week in an attractive new facility.
Marlena first launched with takeout dishes during the worst days of the pandemic, says Chow Fisher.
The couple carved out a niche in Bernal Heights and earned national fame, including a Michelin star, despite navigating the post-pandemic restaurant industry.
