North Korea launches more missiles

North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles Thursday after the US redeployed an aircraft carrier.

Near the Korean Peninsula in reaction to Pyongyang's last nuclear-capable missile launch over Japan.

The latest missile launches signal Kim Jong Un will continue defying UN sanctions by conducting nuclear weapons testing.

Kim wants U.S. recognition as a legitimate nuclear state & the relaxation of sanctions.

But the international community shows no sign of allowing that to happen.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the latest missiles were launched 22 minutes apart and fell between the Korean Peninsula & Japan.

The first missile went 350 km (217 km) & reached 80 km (50 mi) in altitude, & the second flew 800 km (497 mi) & 60 km (37 miles).
